Thapelo Maseko has attracted interest, but any club hoping to land the midfielder will have to negotiate directly with Mamelodi Sundowns, according to his agent Glyn Binkin speaking to soccer laduma
Binkin said Maseko remains tied to Sundowns for another two years, making the Tshwane giants the key decision-makers in any potential move. The 22 years old is currently on loan in Cyprus outfits AEL Limassol where he made 13 appearance and got an opportunity to play for BafanaBafana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored a winning goal against South Korea.
“There has been interest in Thapelo, but as you know, he is under contract to Sundowns for a further two years,” Binkin said.
“So any interested party needs to engage with Sundowns in this regard,” he added, making it clear that the Brazilians are in control of the situation.
Binkin also refused to reveal which clubs or regions have shown interest, saying it would be inappropriate to name names while no agreement is in place.
“I’m sorry, I can’t and won’t disclose teams or territories at this stage,” he said. “The player remains under contract to Sundowns, and it would be unfair to disclose such information when no deal is in place as yet.”
The comments suggest that while Maseko may be on the radar of other clubs, any progress on a transfer will depend on Sundowns’ willingness to enter talks.
