The request is said to be based on safety concerns, with Guinea believing it may not be safe for the team to travel to South Africa. The reported request comes amid concern over the treatment of African foreigners in South Africa, which Guinea appears to be citing as part of its safety argument. If the federation follows through, the matter could become a major talking point ahead of the qualifier.
