Bafana Bafana teenager Tylon Smith is set to become the latest South African in Major League Soccer, with a move to New England Revolution on the cards.

According to _iDiski Times_ Smith will join the MLS side from Queens Park Rangers in England on a season-long loan, with an option to buy included in the deal.

The 19-year-old centre back has impressed at Loftus Road and the switch to the United States is seen as another chance for the Bafana youngster to gain valuable experience in a different environment.

Smith will link up with fellow South Africans Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Puso Dithejane at the league. The move also sees him follow in the footsteps of Bongokuhle Hlongwane, who has been a standout for Minnesota United in MLS.

The Bafana Bafana prospect is rated highly in SA and England for his EQ and stability, and regular game-time in MLS could boost his chances of breaking into BafanaBafana senior squad.

New England are currently pushing to strengthen their squad ahead of the MLS playoff push, and Smith is expected to add depth and stability on the back.

Maseko Rejects Sundowns Offer: Cardoso Confirms Attacker Wants Exit

Miguel Cardoso says Thapelo Maseko has turned down the chance to rejoin the Mamelodi Sundowns squad, with the 22-year-old attacker now pushing for an exit. Speaking after Sundowns’ latest training, the CAF Champions League-winning coach confirmed that talks had taken place but Maseko made his intentions clear. “There are no personal issues between us,” Cardoso said. “We had positive discussions recently. But Thapelo has told us he wants to leave.” Cardoso: "I Don't Work With Unwilling Players" The Sundowns boss made it clear he won’t force the issue.  “I prefer not to work with players who don’t want to be here,” Cardoso added. “The door is open if he changes his mind and wants to stay and fight. But right now, the decision is with the club.” Maseko, 22, has been linked with a move away after struggling for regular game time at Chloorkop. The 22-year-old has attracted interest from abroad and the continent, with Danish giants FC Copenhagen submitting an offer. Egyptian powerhouses Al-Ahly and Pyramids FC are also said to be monitoring the situation.
