Injury Blow for Pirates: Makgopa ruled out for two months with knee injury

Evidence Makgopa

Orlando Pirates have suffered a major setback with striker Evidence Makgopa ruled out for the next two months due to a knee injury.

The Buccaneers forward played through a niggle during the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Bafana Bafana and again in pre-season, but the problem has now worsened.

According to _iDiski Times_, the club’s medical team has advised that Makgopa needs an extended period of rest to recover properly and avoid further damage.

The 26-year-old was expected to lead Pirates’ attack this season after finishing as one of the club’s top scorers last campaign. His absence leaves a big gap up front for coach Abdeslam Ouadou ahead of the Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League fixtures.
