Thaphelo Maseko

Mamelodi Sundowns have reached a club-to-club agreement with Danish giants FC Copenhagen for winger Thapelo Maseko, _iDiski Times_ reports.

The deal is worth €1.5 million and will see the 22-year-old make the switch to Europe. Copenhagen are the former club of Bafana legend Sibusiso Zuma.

Maseko has been one of Sundowns’ bright sparks since joining from SuperSport United. His pace and direct running have caught attention both locally and abroad.

With the agreement now in place, the move is subject to Maseko agreeing personal terms and completing a medical in Denmark.

If finalised, he will become the latest South African to test himself in Europe and follow in the footsteps of Zuma, who made his name at the Danish club.

Copenhagen are regulars in the UEFA Champions League and the Danish Superliga, meaning Maseko could get a chance on a big stage.

Kasi flavour Thabo Rakhale From the dusty township grounds of the 1950s, eKasi to the modern Betway Premiership, one thing has defined South African football: flair. The tsamaya, the shibobo, the showboating. It is in our DNA. It brings fans to their feet and makes local football unique. But after more than 70 years of flair, a hard question must be asked: What are the actual benefits of showboating beyond harassing opponents and losing in major tournaments? The Real Benefits Of Showboating To be fair, showboating does have value when used correctly: 1. Fan Entertainment:  It is what fills stadiums. A well-executed shibobo is what fans pay to see. 2. Psychological Edge : It can boost a player's confidence and intimidate a defender. 3. Player Branding:  Flair players get noticed. It helps young players attract scouts and build a name quickly. The Other Side: When Flair Becomes A Flaw The problem begins when flair is used without end product. At international level, where effici...

"As a country, we are doing an injustice to ourselves. An interpreter can't all of a sudden be a head coach just because he was asked to hold the coaching reins just for a season at Kaizer Chiefs." Malesela's comments come after Sekhukhune departure after 5 games being in charge as head coach  WHO IS CEDRIC KAZE? - FACT CHECK Contrary to the "interpreter" tag, Cedric Kaze's profile shows extensive coaching experience: - FC Barcelona Academy* ...
