Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has made his intentions clear after the Buccaneers edged past Durban City 2-1 in a fiery MTN8 quarter-final clash this evening.

The Moroccan tactician did not hold back in his post-match interview, saying winning is the only option at Pirates.

“I’m not here to give flowers to people. We are not in the circus. We are in a professional ecosystem. There is a lot of expectations,” Ouaddou said.

He also reminded fans of the pressure he was under last season.  

“If you want me to remind you my two first games last season, you feel that I was happy to have eight bodyguards around me?”

Ouaddou made it clear that Pirates are targeting trophies this season.  

“So I want to win. I want to win games. Of course, I want to put the strongest team because there is a lot of expectations. The fans they want to win that competition. The club want to win it. It’s not easy."

The win sends Pirates through to the MTN8 semi-finals and puts pressure on the rest of the PSL big teams.
