Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says he is delighted to have new striker Sebastian Pedersen back in camp, with the Norwegian now set to compete for a starting spot.

The 27-year-old forward has officially arrived in South Africa this week after spending time in his home country following Pirates’ pre-season in Spain.

Pedersen Finally Lands In SA

Pedersen joined the Buccaneers from Norwegian side Sogndal IF 

However, he returned home from Europe and only linked up with the team in South Africa this week.

“It’s all the time a good news for, for coach to have to have a new player,” Ouaddou said.

Striker Battle Heats Up At Pirates

Ouaddou confirmed that Pedersen will immediately be thrown into the mix with the club’s other forwards.

“And he’s part is part of our strikers that we have already, and it’s a very good news for everybody.

“Everybody is impatient to, to see him, and yeah, he will be part of the, the competition among, among all the strikers that that we have.”

The arrival of Pedersen adds more firepower to a Pirates attack that already includes Evidence Makgopa, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Zakhele Lepasa.

With the PSL season and CAF Champions League campaign underway, Ouaddou will be hoping the Norwegian can hit the ground running and give Pirates more options up front.

But right now, the decision is with the club.” Maseko, 22, has been linked with a move away after struggling for regular game time at Chloorkop. He was given an opportunity to rejoin first-team training, but has reportedly rejected the offer.
